The aim of the Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification is to provide candidates with knowledge of the basic Health and Safety practices that are essential in the workplace. This includes the hazards and risks presented in the workplace along with the relevant legislation, and ensures awareness of cost-effective, practical control methods.
The achievement of the HABC Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification will enable learners to work safely and to recognise and deal with hazards in the workplace.
Manual Handling Training
Not just a picking up boxes course! Consists of two hours understanding back mechanics and the importance of reducing overall manual handling risk. This is followed by the students applying this "learning" to the workplace, under direct Supervision until they are confident they can devise their own risk reducing actions. Overall course duration approx 5 hrs.
Hazard Awareness and Risk Assessment
A mixture of class based training and practical application with suggestions for methodology that improves confidence and enables all levels to make decisions and apply control to any situation. Most importantly teaching the individual to recognise when they have reached the limits of their expertise
